Cana Consulting is partnering with a regional LNG trading firm to hire a Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with LNG experience looking to transition in-house or step up as a lead counsel in a dynamic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate LNG Sales & Purchase Agreements (SPA) for short- and mid-term contracts.
• Provide legal advisory to the front-desk trading team on relevant matters.
• Handle LNG-specific agreements, including derivatives (ISDA) and Charter Party agreements.
• Manage contractual disputes, resolving conflicts related to LNG SPAs, charter party agreements, joint ventures, and other commercial contracts.
• Oversee general corporate legal matters as needed.

Requirements:

• Qualified in a common law jurisdiction.
• Experience in LNG transactions, including sales & purchase agreements and dispute resolution.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and frameworks for LNG trading.
• Background in private practice or trading firms with relevant LNG legal experience.
• Proactive, hands-on, and commercially driven.
